Looks like a bump to me in the picture. A Technically I would call it more of a bump than a dot. To all those which have asked for another photo showing the hilt marking.The last photo i have uploaded shows the hilt under high magnification. Q; Does he lean to the left? I seen a few DT Luke's before and they tend to lean away from the saber.
