UNPAINTED Pre Production Vintage 1978 STAR WARS DEATH STAR DROID with Markings

This is a very unique figure I got a collection several years ago that included some original Kenner employee items drawings, concept pieces, 1st shots, even some Kenner employee personal items awards, letterhead, check stubs, business cards, etc. Anyhow, this is the 1978 Death Star Droid figure but it appears to be completely unpainted. It has markings on the feet, arms and eyes (where thr black paint should be). There is also markings on the neck area as shown. That is all I know about this figure. I have shown this figure to former Kenner employees including Jim Swearingin and they believed it to be some type of pre-prod (possibly pre-paint) figure but could not say for certain. I wish I had some type of paperwork with it but unfortunately I do not or I would get it graded. It has been sitting on my desk for a couple years... Time to let it go. FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS!
