The 1981 Kenner Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back R2-D2 (Sensorscope) is a 3.75-inch plastic action figure featuring a signature swiveling dome that lifts a plastic "Sensorscope" (periscope).

Initially released in the 1981 Sears exclusive Rebel Command Center playset and later on 45/47-back cards, this figure is distinguished by its unique, non-paper-sticker dome design. Series: The Empire Strikes Back. Features: Rotating head that activates a lifting, blue-tipped, grey plastic Sensor scope.

Articulation: 3 points (rotating dome, two swivel legs/hips). Stamp/Marking: Often marked "1977" despite 1981 release. Origin: Commonly produced in Hong Kong.

This figure is part of the vintage Kenner collection and replaced the original 1978 version, providing a more detailed "swamp" or "Hoth" version of the droid. PLEASE VIEW PHOTOS AND VIDEO!
